Meghalaya plans new trade policy

Meghalay state government is contemplating to formulate a trade policy that would encompass both domestic and international opportunities for business and investment. The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority which organized “The Shillong Dialogue” in collaboration with Asian Confluence has also mooted business ventures which can create trans- boundary value chains in Agri/Horticulture and Tourism with Northeast India. The state government is engaging different countries in South East Asia to explore the potential for trade and cooperation in sectors like agriculture, horticulture and tourism.
